Building Texoma’s Emerging Workforce
As Texoma experiences rapid growth in advanced manufacturing, semiconductor technology, healthcare and the skilled trades, developing a strong local talent pipeline is more important than ever. This panel will give HR professionals a clearer understanding of the work already underway to prepare area students for rewarding careers close to home.
The conversation will follow the student journey, beginning with leadership, responsibility, collaboration and goal-setting skills developed through Sherman ISD’s Leader in Me program. Panelists will then explore Career and Technical Education, dual-credit courses, industry-recognized certifications, internships and other hands-on learning opportunities aligned with the region’s high-demand occupations.
The discussion will also highlight partnerships among local school districts, Grayson College, Workforce Solutions Texoma, economic-development organizations and area employers. Attendees will learn about current programs, plans to expand student opportunities and ways the HR community can support career awareness, mentorship, work-based learning and the development of Texoma’s future workforce.
